1965 Belvedere
Brad K brought us this 1965 Belvedere 1 to do a Signature Series
Smothers Super Tune.......The car would barely run......... I
couldn't
even unload it out of the trailer and pull it in the shop
without
restarting it every 5 feet...........It would start, rev up, and then
die..........

Gotta LUV
the body color rims with Torque Thrusts..............We also
fixed the neutral safety switch, adjusted the column shifter
cables so
they work correctly, added an oil dipstick, and wired the fuel pump
with a relay so it comes on with the key.............

Car looks tuff with A990
Hemi scoop.........I gotta tell ya, I LOVE a deep pan hangin'
down...................

500" Hemi short block was built by Best Machine and features a Scot
Brown hydraulic/mini van cam and Mopar Cross Ram intake...........Car
runs great until 5,500RPM and then noses over..........but we're going
to take care of that...........It's getting a solid roller with
matching valve springs so it'll run like a 500" Hemi
should..........Car now has Smothers built MSD plug wires, MSD
ignition, and blaster coil...........Brad wants to make some passes in
the car at the track, so we're going to get it Race Ready.............

Car is auto on the column with a reverse pattern full manual valve
body.........Brad's going to redo the front seats so they'll match the
rest of the interior................

The float levels were low anywhere from 1/8" to 1/4" in all 4 floats,
so to get it to idle, I raised the float levels, curved
the distributer
so the initial timing went up from 10 to 25 degrees, put fresh
plugs in
it, set the idle mixture, and added the MSD ignition............It's a
totally different car now........Crossram sure looks
tuff.....................
